Food is great got peppered steak w/shrimp Rangoon's cooked right. Let me just say as a business owner myself I treat EVERYONE of my clients the same. Not a shot at Rice Box but Gentleman behind counter offered 2 men drinks. Didn't ask or offer me & my wife anything could have even made an extra buck off us. WE were visiting for 2 days if we are ever in Houston again we'll be back definitely worth the money giving 4 out of 5 cause of drink thing and I could be wrong too if so I can definitely apologize

I cannot comment on the service or the ambiance as I have always ordered from here on door dash BUT the food is excellent! They give HUGE portions and every entree comes with egg rolls on top of that. Mongolian beef is really good and the garlic eggplant dish

UPDATE REVIEW. Went today around 4:35 PM May 26, 2024. Got the Broccoli dish and added beef. I must say after trying them 3 times and leaving not such great reviews(1 stars) . I was impressed today. The young man at the counter wasn't the most delighted or outgoing person but he was professional and straight forward. Service was a 5/5 cause he didn't mind waiting for me to look at the menu and he gave me a refill on my soda before I left. Ambiance is of course awesome as usual. Amazing LED lighting and cool graphics everywhere. The food itself was great, nice and hot, flavorful. Broccoli was still crunchy but soft which I loved a lot. Beef was great too. I got 2 egg rolls which were nice and crunchy! Rice was more in the bland side but compared to some peoples...ahem heights Asian cafe.... It was great! I'm so glad to finally be able to leave a good review for you guys at rice box. PS The worst part about the dish was how hot it was... but isn't that a good thing???!

I've had rice box countless of times but I usually have a very basic order (house fried rice or pepper steak). this time I decided to be more adventurous + get something that I know I couldn't get in Austin (where I live) -- and that led me to ordering the Chongqing... which I'm still salivating over days later. it was so delicious, I had it made with tofu (I'm not vegetarian or vegan) + omg. I am counting down the days until my next Houston trip (which happens to be soon) and I'm most definitely not leaving Houston without the tofu chongqing!!! Service was super quick as well for 3pm on a Thursday. Food was hot and fresh when I picked it up 15 mins after ordering online.

I have been waiting to try this place since I moved to Houston and I am glad I did. My boss decided to buy us lunch and we picked this restaurant and doordashed it. I am a vegetarian and they had many options. I picked the curry rice with cauliflower. First of all the portions were great. It was flavorful, spicy and tasted amazing. I also had hot and sour soup which was amazing too. Everything had so much flavor and I can't wait to try other items. The only thing I would change is maybe cutting up the cauliflower so the pieces are smaller instead of leaving them big and remove the limes. Other than that, it's my new favorite Chinese spot.

Was definitely wowed by the tofu chow fun! The tofu was done very well - super crispy outside, soft inside. I was actually worried that I would run out if them so I started counting lol! The noodles/egg/veggies were so delicious. It also comes with an egg roll that I devoured along with the noodles. A classic side! I was pleasantly surprised that this place lives up to the hype, at least with this dish. It has an interesting futuristic menu. Couldn't get a good pic due to the glare. This place is a must try if you like chow fun and they give you a ton of it. Will definitely be back!

I came here with my girlfriend and 3 of her family members on a Friday night around 7pm and it was fairly busy. Finding Parking was a little tricky but we found a spot on 19th only a 2 min walk away. You order right when you get there, so be ready and look at the menu in advance! The menu is displayed on a unique futuristic screen display and they have all the Chinese-American classics! Tons of people were taking pickup orders, so it seems like takeout is more popular at this location. We were quoted a 35-40 min wait for the food to be ready, but it ended up being more like 20 mins. Another reason why I mention takeout is because There is barely any indoor seating - just 6 barstools - but plenty of outdoor seating. The outdoor area is lit in red neon lights giving a late night futuristic-urban vibe. They do not have fans so if it's a hot day beware. I ordered the walnut shrimp with lo mein ($2 upcharge) chicken egg roll (which is included), and the NITRO Thai tea (no refills). Everything was soooo good, and the servings were very large. I took home leftovers to eat the next day, and got two more reals out if it - that's how large my portion was. My walnut honest shrimp had pineapple in it. That was a pleasant surprise, I'd never had it prepared like that before.
